What can I offer?

services and opportunities for individuals and organisations

Whether you're an individual working out your next step or an organisation looking to support a whole team or address an institutional career challenge, I can offer coaching and training shaped around you, that are flexible and grounded in a wide range of experience, education, and accreditation.

Career coaching for individuals

You might have no idea where to start, lots of different ideas you don't know how to get started with, or a focused goal and just want help getting there. That might be:

  • One-to-one career coaching sessions focusing on your aims and future direction
  • Set personalised topics for a career planning discussion, which might be exploring choices to change career or retrain, creating your job search strategy, interpreting your career story - or something different altogether
  • Practical advice and support preparing for job applications (CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn) and practising interview technique

All of this is fine! We'll talk first with a 15-minute discovery call, so I can learn more about how I could help, before shaping the support around what you need rather than fitting you into a default format. I then send you that proposal and, if we go ahead, schedule in our meetings at a convenient time for your schedule. That might be a single one-hour online session or an ongoing series, practical or exploratory.

My approach is a human-first, which is fundamentally important in a technologically-driven era, bringing in digital tools where they add value, and at a level that suits you individually. I draw on many years working with individuals with many different career scenarios to explore and guide within, from student through to senior executive. Through this I've ended up a Registered Career Development Professional with the Career Development Institute and a European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)-accredited coaching practitioner.

Organisational training, coaching, and consulting

My professional focus has consistently been on careers and the future of work, and at organisational level this has included creation of programmes of learning and training, both online and in-person. I've delivered this to everything from small group workshops to audiences of hundreds, in person and online, in the UK and internationally.

Rather than a fixed catalogue, I'd rather start with your aims and build from there, whether that's a workshop series, coaching for individuals in your team, a research or content project, or a speaking engagement. In practice, this had previously looked like:

  • Consultation, research and product development for an edtech start-up and a growing online community platform
  • A commissioned programme of seminars on job interviews for an international education management organisation
  • Initiating a bespoke CV review process for 150+ incoming students at a UK business school

We'd start with an initial meeting to talk through your aims, then I'll put together a plan with a timeline and costs, and deliver against it with materials ready for you and your participants.

More recently, my delivery has drawn on two other strands of my work: empathy in the workplace, and AI in career guidance and coaching. Read the Room: Empathize at Work, my book on why empathy matters at work, was published in June 2026, and I continue to write about, monitor and research AI's pros and cons in career decision making. Both are increasingly relevant at organisational recruitment level and in individual career progression. how it supports people's careers.

What do clients say?

Creative/Trainer at a Global Tech Giant, Hong Kong SAR

"Barnaby is very professional and exceeded my expectation! He repaired and re-built multiple templates of C.V. and Cover Letter for me to fit different openings. While the tasks might seem difficult for many others, he could complete all tasks within deadlines. I got an interview since then. This never happened to me (that quick) before! One strength worth mention is that Barnaby studied my profile and C.V. deeply, rewrote my C.V. and cover letter without losing my original purpose and style. No HR jargons and down-to-earth communication throughout."

Government Affairs Consultant at a Political Consultancy, Belgium

"Barnaby has been instrumental in my interview preparation for both internships and full-time consulting positions. During his online sessions, we did a mock interview where he asked me questions and gave insights that were highly tailored to my industry. Additionally, Barnaby always manages to create a welcoming virtual environment that will put you immediately at ease. I strongly recommend contacting Barnaby for a coaching session as he invariably will provide you with helpful frameworks and advice that will make you ace the often challenging interview process."

Financial Regulation Manager, Professional Services Firm, UK

"As a post-graduate majoring in Financial and Commercial Regulation, I had first hand experience of Barnaby's excellent career coaching skills in helping me with finding the right career opportunities after graduation. With Barnaby's support, I was guided on a path that matched both my academic and intellectual ability which led to securing leading roles with the Bank of England and KPMG LLP. Whether it is interviews, changing careers, discovering what you are good at or applying for a job; I am confident that Barnaby can help you achieve that, as he helped me in my pursuits with securing employment with some of the top employers in the United Kingdom."

Public Affairs and CSR Professional at a Pharmaceutical Company, France

"Barnaby is a great career advisor! He truly listens and cares about needs and worries... he was always available to answer my questions or challenge my ideas, during and after my Masters' degree. He quickly replies to emails and puts some thoughts and intelligence in trying to help as best as he can. I strongly recommend him."

Economist, Sustainability & Energy Consultancy, UK

"Barnaby was a great help for me in my applications. He helped coach me through multiple mock interviews and always provided me with constructive criticism. Barnaby made sure to research the company and the role I was applying for and then asked relevant questions in the mock interview setting. He always provided on how to better structure and phrase my answers - ultimately this proved successful as I secured the role."

I really benefitted from practicing my interview technique with you, so thank you very much. It is certainly something I would do again and recommend to others."
